Parents Resposibilities

At a childcare or development center like Learn N Play Child Development Center, parents are typically expected to uphold certain responsibilities to ensure their child’s well-being, academic and social growth, and the smooth operation of the facility. While the specific expectations may vary by center, common parent responsibilities usually include:

Regular Communication
  • Keep updated: Maintain open lines of communication with staff regarding any changes in your child’s health, behavior, or family circumstances.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences: Participate in meetings or check-ins that allow staff to discuss your child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Respond promptly: If the center contacts you regarding an emergency, health issue, or other important matter, ensure you respond in a timely manner.
  • Pay tuition fees on time: Ensure that all fees (tuition, activity costs, late fees, etc.) are paid as agreed upon in the enrollment contract.
  • Be aware of any additional costs: These may include field trips, special activities, or supplies required for specific programs.
  • Provide updated health information: Keep the center informed of any allergies, medical conditions, medications, or special needs your child may have.
  • Follow illness policies: Adhere to the center’s policies regarding sickness and exclusion (e.g., not sending your child when they are ill).
  • Immunization records: Ensure your child’s immunizations are up to date as required by local laws and the center’s policies.
  • Punctuality: Ensure your child is dropped off and picked up on time. Late pickups may incur fees, and timely drop-offs ensure your child doesn’t miss out on important activities.
  • Authorized pick-up: Only authorized individuals should pick up your child. Inform the center if someone new will be picking up your child.
  • Safety and security: Always sign your child in and out as required by the center’s policy.
  • Respect center policies: Follow all rules regarding behavior, attendance, and dress code. Centers often have specific guidelines to ensure a safe and productive environment.
  • Encourage positive behavior: Work with the staff to reinforce behavioral expectations and collaborate on ways to address any challenges your child may face.
  • Respect center staff: Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with the staff and other parents, fostering a positive and supportive community.
  • Update contact details: Keep your contact information (phone number, emergency contacts, address) up to date so that you can be reached in case of emergencies.
